THE grande dame of rock'n'roll Stevie Nicks has extended her 24 Karat Gold tour to Australia in November and she is bringing Chrissie Hynde with her.

The woman who gave rock'n'roll one of its most powerful female voices has captivated hundreds of thousands of fans in America on the joint tour with The Pretenders.

The mutual admiration society between these two acclaimed women of rock culminates with the pair singing Stop Dragging My Heart Around during each show.

"It's like being on tour with Elizabeth Taylor!" Hynde told the Madison Square Garden crowd in reference to Nicks' musical royalty.

They will perform at a mix of wineries for Day On The Green, outdoor concerts and arena during the Australian run of shows which kicks off at Perth Arena on November 4.

The Fleetwood Mac frontwoman focuses on her solo repertoire for these shows, showcasing a handful of songs from her 2014 collection 24 Karat Gold - Songs From The Vault.

But those who worship at the Church of Stevie will be overjoyed to see Mac classics including Gold Dust Woman, Rhiannon, Landslide and Gypsy on the set list.

Nicks has enjoyed a love affair with Australia both with the Mac and since launching her solo career in the early 1980s with the seminal debut album Bella Donna and its breakout hit Edge Of Seventeen.

In recent years she has become the rock'n'roll godmother to a raft of female artists to follow in her considerable footsteps including Haim and Lana Del Rey, featuring on her latest record.

"It's been thrilling to get on stage each night and sing some of my early gems from early in my career along with getting the chance to sing the material from my last two albums, In Your Dreams and 24 Karat Gold - Songs From The Vault", she said.

Adding The Pretenders to the bill, as she did in America, makes this one of the biggest superstar tours to hit Australian stages this year.

Hynde draws widely from the band's four-decade career, featuring much loved songs including early hits Brass In Pocket, Message Of Love and Stop Your Sobbing (a Kinks cover they released as their debut single) through to Hymn to Her and I'll Stand By You.

General tickets go on sale on August 14. There are three pre-sales, American Express Card Member (August 14), Live Nation (August 17) and A Day On The Green (August 17).

The 24 Karat Gold tour opens at Perth Arena on November 2 and then moves to Botanic Park, Adelaide on November 4, ICC Sydney Theatre on November 7, Bimbadgen Winery, Hunter Valley on November 11, Sirromet Wines, November 12, Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, November 16 and Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley on November 18.
