Stephanie Scott's accused murderer 'liked' Nazi video clips

THE man accused of murdering New South Wales schoolteacher Stephanie Scott lived a secret online life including YouTube clips supporting notorious Nazis and former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Fairfax Media is reporting that reclusive school cleaner Vincent Stanford, 24, had no known friends, steered away from social media, and said little beyond "hello" to neighbours.

But online, he was Quetzalcoatl - a name taken from a mythical serpent from Aztec mythology.

Police examination of his computer is understood to show Mr Stanford would "like" video clips of Nazi marching songs, Third Reich military music and German military marches, Fairfax reports.

His fascination with fascist Germany extended to him writing "RIP Rudolf Hess. Ich Bereue nichts" or "I regret nothing" on a video about the Nazi leader.

In computer gaming forums, he discussed his love of the Stargate and Halo series.

The Halo games - described as a "military science fiction shooter" - are among the best-selling games of all time, with more than 60 million sold worldwide.

Mr Stanford was born in Tasmania and lived in Netherlands for a decade before moving to Leeton about 14 months ago with his family.

He worked at the Leeton High School where Ms Scott, 26, was last seen on Easter Sunday.

She disappeared a week before her wedding, her charred remains found five days later, about 70km out of town.

Mr Stanford was arrested on Wednesday.

Police allegedly found spots of blood in his car and an image of a burnt body on a camera.

He is to return to court in June.
