POLICE investigating the murder of teacher Stephanie Scott have found a woman's body in bushland north of Griffith.
The discovery was made at around 5:00pm (AEST) at Cocoparra National Park in southern New South Wales, about 70 kilometres from her home town, Leeton.
A crime scene has been set up and forensic specialists are processing the scene. Earlier a laptop had been found during a search.
Police told Fairfax Media's The Irrigator that the body was recovered and taken out of the park shortly after 1am.
It is understood the mother and the brother of accused killer Vincent Stanford, 24, had been helping police with their investigation and providing them valuable information, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Fairfax Media understands the national park, just north of Griffith, was a regular place the Stanford family would travel to for camping trips.
It is 70 kilometres from the town where Ms Scott lived with her fiance Aaron Leeson-Woolley, who she was due to marry on Saturday, April 11.
Ms Scott was allegedly murdered on Easter Sunday by the cleaner from her workplace, Leeton High School.
Stanford was charged with the murder on Thursday, and has been remanded in custody to reappear in Griffith Local Court via videolink in June.
The 26-year-old English and drama teacher was last seen at the school on Myrtle Street about 11:00am on Sunday.
