Steak knife stabbing ends in death

A PREGNANT woman accused of fatally stabbing her partner with a steak knife during a post grand final party was remanded in custody on Sunday.

Kristy Cullen, 32, allegedly stabbed her boyfriend Michael Gilham in the chest late Sunday night at the Gosford home where she and other family members, including her two young children, were watching the NRL Grand Final.

Gilham, 28, was rushed to the Gosford Hospital where he later died.

Cullen, who is four and a half months pregnant, appeared in the Gosford Local Court on Monday charged with murder.

According to, the police facts tendered in court revealed Cullen allegedly told Gilham "I'll drive a knife through ya" while she was cooking sausages for the family.

After returning from a trip to the nearby bottle shop, another argument erupted with Cullen allegedly following through on her threat.

Police will allege Cullen "raised her right arm and in a downwards punching motion struck the deceased to his chest".

It will also be alleged that following the fight, she ran out onto the balcony and screamed "What have I done?"

Cullen was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on Tuesday morning.
