Stakeholders to front inquiry into Commission of Audit

LOBBYISTS from the social services sector, free market advocates and a former health advisor will front a Senate inquiry hearing into the Abbott Government's Commission of Audit on tomorrow.

The inquiry, which is examining the audit of government finances, will hear from a range of stakeholders on the outcomes they want from the audit.

Senators on the committee investigating the audit will hear from the Centre for Independent Studies, Australian Council of Social Services and Australian Services Union, among others.

They will also hear from former government health advisor Terry Barnes, who recently proposed a $6 fee for GP services to be considered under the audit.
