Stabbing victim charged

THE victim of a stabbing in South Grafton appeared in Coffs Harbour Court yesterday to answer charges arising from several outstanding warrants.

Police say Jason Troy Rosengren, 34, of Mt Ashton, was stabbed twice in the back during an altercation in South Grafton on Monday morning.

Rosengren was wanted by police on eight outstanding warrants including robbery and violence charges.

Coffs Clarence crime manager, Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay, said judging by the amount of blood at the scene in Wharf St, Rosengren had been left for some time before he received assistance.

He said police were still investigating the attack, but have charged a 23-year-old South Grafton man, Damien O'Driscoll, with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He has been released on bail to appear in Grafton Local Court on October 8.

Rosengren remains in custody and has been remanded to appear in Central Local Court, Sydney, on Monday.
