Sport galore for youngsters

The North Coast Academy of Sport & Recreation has several sporting activities happening throughout the month so kids can have fun outdoors and stay active.

A Bradman Clinic for cricket lovers is happening next week where kids can learn the history of the game and enjoy drills to develop batting, bowling and fielding techniques. The clinic will be held next Monday and Tuesday, January 16-17 at Lismore's Woodlawn College from 9am to 3pm and costs $100.

There is also a surfing clinic at Lennox Head on Thursday and Friday, January 18-19, from 9am to 4pm daily for $120.

Lake Ainsworth activity days for children aged seven to 13 years are fun-filled and give children the chance to try a number of sports including canoeing, swimming, archery, rock climbing, bike riding and more at the beautiful Lake Ainsworth Centre. These will run daily from next Monday, January 16 until January 25 and cost $55 per day.

Next Wednesday, January 18, there is also a sailing workshop at Lake Ainsworth where teenagers can learn the fundamentals of rigging, racing, teamwork and safety, with participants given plenty of opportunity to practise their skills on the day. It runs from 9am to 4pm and costs $55.
