Sisters doin' it for themselves

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated by women (and others who like women) all over the world.

Globally, women of all ages, races and sexuality come together to celebrate the achievements of women (like continuing the human race).

For the folk at the Big Time Gallery in Drake, International Women’s Day means it’s an opportunity to showcase local female talent.

This year, the gallery presents the IWD Art Exhibition. It will not only showcase talented women artists from the Drake village but also from all over Northern NSW – from Tenterfield to Mullumbimby.

To celebrate the opening next Sunday, March 7, there’ll be music and other performances all afternoon from noon.

Headlining will be Drake’s very own popular female duo The She-Oaks.
