Shots fired into sleeping family’s car at Bogangar

GUNSHOTS fired late last night have left a sleeping Bogangar family rattled.

The three shots were fired into a car out the front a Coast Rd home shortly after 11pm last night.

When the shots were fired, residents of the home walked out to find three bullet holes in the rear of their Toyota Soarer sedan which was parked in their driveway.

"Witnesses told police they saw a light coloured 4WD utility, with a canvas canopy, driving away from the front of the address," a police statement said.

A person wearing a white hooded jumper and long dark pants was also seen walking away from the front of the property immediately following the gunshots.

No one was injured during the shooting.

The scene was examined by specialist officers and Tweed-Byron detectives are investigating the incident.

They're asking anyone who saw the incident to come forward.
