Sex offender 'breached bail by running a brothel'

A VIOLENT rapist accused of running a suspected brothel while subject to strict bail, conditions including wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet, is back behind bars.

The registered sex offender, who cannot be named, was arrested last week in Sydney's eastern suburbs where he was reportedly running a home-based "massage" parlour.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the man told police he delivered pamphlets in the area. reported the man was notorious for committing a series of violent kidnappings and rapes across Australia in the 80s and 90s.

He was released under supervision last year after serving just five years of a 12-year head sentence for one of his crimes.

He has since been charged with breaching supervision orders and will remain in custody while police continue their investigation.
