Scene reminders

Ganga Giri, a man who plays his didgeridoo all around the world, has a new band. Gone is the backing DJ, replaced by a real drummer, Dan Pearson, and a singer from French Guyana, Jomick. Ganga Giri and his crew create huge dance rhythms that compel you to move and groove. You can catch up with him (after his European tour) at Coorabell Hall, this Friday, November 6, from 7pm. $20/15 gets you in.

Elana Stone (pictured) and Mike Rosenberg (from Passenger) are great musicians who have performed all over the world and usually with a band behind them. But this Friday, November 6, you can see these performers do their thing in a more solo, acoustic way when they play the Star Court Theatre in Lismore. David Campeau will perform with Elana, and Jess Chalker is a special guest. Doors open 7pm. Entry is $18.

That raucous trio, Sneaky Weasel Gang, plays 60s-type garage blues and some filthy funk. From Western Australia, where they recently won an award for best funk act, the band will hit the Nimbin Pub this Friday, November 6, from 7.30pm. Big groove.
