SISTERS Melia and Nerida Naughton, aka Scarlett Affection, are releasing their new album, Forever is a long, long time at the Byron Bay Community Centre this Saturday, September 1.

Four songs from this album have already reached the semi-finals of the USA Show Me the Music Songwriting Competition.

The single 5:49, for which they'll be previewing their first film clip at the show, has been nominated as a finalist in the 2012 International Songwriting competition from amongst 12,000 entries worldwide.

In 2010 Melia and Nerida created the Scarlett School, the leading Contemporary Music Performance School in the Northern Rivers, harnessing some of the talent in the region.

Tickets are $27 and the show kicks off at 7.30pm.

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
