Sarah Grant will be fronting her own band when the Sarah Grant Band plays the By The River Lounge Bar in Ballina this Sunday, October 7. They'll play classic tunes from the swinging 60s, soulful funk from the Motown era, and some modern pop hits. Her band is Harry Nichols on guitar, Dave Tweedie on the four-stringer and Brendan Lees hitting the skins. Cool backing for a fantastic voice. Starts at 3pm and $5 gets you in.

Hat Fitz and Cara Robinson are partners in marriage as well as musical partners. This blues duo will do their soulful thang at The Brewery in Byron this Friday, October 5. With a new album Wiley Ways (engineered y Jeff Lang) under their collective belt, the combo of Aussie mountain man and Irish folk singer is an intriguing, raw and exciting one. The gig starts at 9pm. Katie Noonan and Karin Schaupp will perform some of the geatest songs to come out of Australia and New Zealand when this exquisite combination of voice and classical guitar plays the Star Court Theatre in Lismore this Saturday, October 6, as part of their Songs of the Southern Skies tour. You'll hear songs by the Finn Brothers, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Nick Cave, The Divinyls, Sia and Gotye plus traditional folk songs and the art songs of Peter Sculthorpe, Elena Kats-Chernin, Matthew Hindson and Richard Charlton. The greatest music of the silver screen comes to Ballina Players Theatre when Dean Doyle and Sophistication present The Movie Music Show on Friday, October 12, at 10am and again at 1.30pm.
