Sand, sun, and free tickets
The Festival of the Sun (FOTSUN) will be held right on the beach at Port Macquarie on December 11 and 12.
This is a great festival with camping on site, on the beach (at Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park), so you can totally enjoy the sand, sun and music (bring a hat...)
If you like something a bit fancy-pants for accommodation rather than a tent, Sundowner does have self-contained cottages available. (But they're in big demand so be quick.)
Some of the acts confirmed so far are Spiderbait, Little Birdy, The Beautiful Girls, Children Collide, Urthboy, Bonjah, Red Ink, Chris Pickering, Eliza Ellen, Purple Sneakers DJs… and the list gets longer daily.
And here's something different: this year the Festival of the Sun will be a strictly 18+ event. But if you're under 18 and in need of a music fix, don't despair. There's Summer Harvest, which will feature some of the FOTSUN line-up in a safe, drug- and alcohol-free environment at Port Macquarie Panthers. (Good idea, guys.)
More info and tickets ($120 + BF) are available at www.fotsun.com.au.
Summer Harvest tickets are $65 +BF.
Freebie: The Echo has a double pass to the festival to give away to some lucky reader. To go in the draw to win, phone 6622 2888 between 10.15am and 10.30am next Monday, October 19, and tell us how many girls are in the band Beautiful Girls (who are playing at FOTSUN).
