Ruthless Roar to continue the same way

AFTER watching his team notch up its first win in Melbourne in nine attempts, Brisbane Roar coach Mike Mulvey said he wanted his team to continue its ruthless brand of football.

The ladder leaders recorded their second successive win, a comprehensive 3-0 triumph over the Victory, at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

Liam Miller, Matt McKay and Dimitri Petratos (pictured) scored the goals.

Petratos continuing his good form after a hat-trick against Sydney FC in round 12.

"We put on a very good performance in Sydney last week and we backed it up," Mulvey said.

"We are on a mission - we are not looking for overnight success, we're looking for long-term success."

Adrian Leijer's red card made it difficult for the Victory to mount a fightback.

Three points for Brisbane saw it move seven points clear of the Wanderers at the top of the table, while the Victory remained third on 19.
