Rotary gives near and far

The Rotary Club of Lismore West members are always busy helping people both here in our community and overseas whenever they can.

The club recently presented a cheque of $11,000 to the Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, raised by catering at the 2009 4WD Caravan, Camping & Marine Show in Lismore in July.

The Rotary Club of Lismore West also recently organised for unwanted medical equipment from St Vincent’s Hospital to be shipped to a hospital in New Guinea. The Rotary Club wished to give special thanks to Reg Mills, a former member of the Rotary Club of Lismore Central, who kindly provided a Mills Transport semi-trailer and driver free of charge so the goods could be transported to Brisbane before being shipped overseas.
