Rotary a treasure chest for charity

Every Christmas the Rotary Club of Alstonville conducts a Treasure Chest Raffle for local charities including Our Kids, Camp Quality and several local schools.

This year the club raised around $9,000 and they would like to thank their sponsors and supporters including Duck Creek Mountain Travel, Rex Airlines, Angourie Rainforest Resort in Yamba, Australia Post and The Good Guys in Ballina.

President Sue Lloyd said they would also like to thank the Alstonville Plaza and the Lismore Shopping Square for supporting their fundraising endeavours.

The 2009 winner of the Treasure Chest Raffle was Heather Tyler of Lismore, who won return airfares to Sydney and two nights accommodation at Old Sydney Holiday Inn for two.
