Rock invasion day

Nimbin Underground is going all out with a mega gig on Australia Day (Tuesday, January 26) at the Nimbin Town Hall. The show is called Invasion Day and will showcase eight of the Northern Rivers’ best garage, punk, grunge and heavy metal bands. And one from Brisvegas.

So, who are these bands?

Nimbin’s Manifest, who love to dress and paint up, will play their original country-punk ballads.

The Tendons, a hard-rocking Lismoron outfit, have just released a CD, Cult Leader.

Tanamera, a heavy metal band from Alstonville always get the heads banging.

Wine Slutz is a two-man rock/rap combo.

Clunes-based The Arcane New Year is an alternative rock band which has recently charted on Triple J uUearthed.

Slug is a four-piece punk outfit. And punk is what Thunder Gods of the Multiverse are all about too.

P.I.S.S. is a quirky punk band from Lismore.

And finally there’s HyperNove, who are Brisbane-based rockers.

The big kick-drum action starts at 1pm and goes through till late in the evening.

And the gig is free.

Let’s rock!
