Margot Robbie talks Dalby on Jimmy Kimmel Show

NEWS from Dalby doesn't normally make it onto late-night American talk shows.

But this week, rising Hollywood actress Margot Robbie put the Western Downs town on the radar of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, as well as up to three million viewers.

The Wolf of Wall Street star, who has family in Dalby, spoke about her visits home on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, and according to her, one thing is the talk of the town - Big W.

"My family is from a little country town called Dalby, which is three hours inland," she told the comedian.

"It's very small.

"When I go back to Dalby, everyone's like "what's been happening with you?" and I'm like oh, I did a movie and stuff, what's been happening out here?

"And they're like "we're getting a Big W!""

"For two years, all the town talked about was getting this Big W, and Big W came, and then everyone would talk about how good Big W was.

"So for a really long time, that's what's been happening out at Dalby."

Despite the somewhat unflattering portrait of the town, Robbie did have some kind words for Dalby, describing the people as "so sweet".

However, she was slightly nervous about the reception her raunchy role opposite Leonardo DeCaprio would receive.

"But everyone's so sweet there, and whenever I get in the paper or anything, everyone passes it around at bridge club and puts it on the fridge.

"I don't know if Dalby's going to approve of this movie.

"I'm going to follow it up with another one that's a little more appeasing to a small country town."
