Richmond River sings a song of joy

Richmond River High School has scored $500 for selling the greatest number of 2010 Our Kids calendars and accompanying Christmas CD out of five local high schools.

The Our Kids calendar 2010 was sold with a Christmas CD featuring the talent of around 100 local high school students singing Christmas carols.

Along with participating in the CD, each school involved was in the running to win $500 for their music department sponsored by Local Directories. The challenge was to sell as many calendar and CD combos as possible.

“This project allows our students to help other local children and it has been very rewarding,” Richmond River music teacher Sheryl Williamson said.

Money raised from the sale of calendar and CD combos is used by Our Kids to buy much-needed equipment for the Children’s Ward and Special Care Nursery at Lismore Base Hospital.
