RFS: State of Emergency for the Valley
THE VALLEY is now under its third state of emergency (Section 44) in an as many months.
The two main fires that are causing concern are a 2000 hectare blaze at Inglebar near Jackadgery and the Dough Boy hill fire in the Ramornie National Park.
The Inglebar fire is currently been contained by local RFS crews, machinery and aircraft and the Dough Boy fire is been attended by a co-joint team from RFS, National Parks and State Forests.
Winds are forecast to be light and variable today and an RFS spokesman said he there was no threat to property and he expected crews would be able to improve containment lines.
He said people should be aware back burning operations will put a lot more smoke in the air and asthmatics should take care and if possible stay inside.
