Spice N Flavor adds recent awards to tally of gongs
THE Indian restaurant best known for its delicious butter chicken and garlic and cheese naan bread has recently attained three more accolades to add to its collection.
Spice N Flavor owner Amani Khehra and his team were thrilled to have won the 2013 Best Indian Restaurant for North Queensland.
The restaurant has also been a 2013 North Queensland finalist for Best Tourism Restaurant and a national finalist for Best Indian Restaurant.
"It feels great to have won these recent awards. It really pays to be consistent and have the right product," Mr Khehra said.
"Our customers keep coming back because we have had the same staff for three years who know what they are serving and for the reason that our food is of high quality."
Apart from famous traditional dishes, like butter chicken, Mr Khehra said customers still liked to try something different.
"Goat curry, mustard fish and beef mughlai prawns are some of the dishes that our customers really enjoy when they want to try something other than the traditional meals like butter chicken," he said.
When Mr Khehra opened Spice N Flavor three years ago it was one of the first Indian restaurants operating in Mackay.
"When we first opened there was nothing else in town at that stage and now we deliver consistent and quality food every day to keep our customers coming back," he said.
