Friendly reminder: Ute drivers lock up your explosives
REMEMBER, if you have to drive around with a box filled with explosives, make sure it is locked.
Queensland's mining industry was treated to this helpful reminder from the state government after electronic detonators fell off a ute while it was heading underground.
The box opened on the way down with the driver returning to pick up his lost cargo after noticing the raised lid.
The detonators were found by a supervisor.
The Department of Mines reminds those carrying explosives to keep "carry boxes" locked and secured. They should also not lose explosives or allowed "unauthorised access".
The state warnings are kept deliberately vague in order to encourage mines to report incidents.
