Remembering Vietnam Vets Day

I WENT to the Bentley Art Prize Awards last weekend.

It is the 32nd time they have been held and is an iconic event on the Northern Rivers Arts Calendar.

Helen Trustum and the committee do a fantastic job.

Congratulations to all the winners and entrants and thank you to the sponsors.

It was National Homeless Week last week. I attended a function at the Winsome.

It was wonderful to see so many people and agencies there, all who work with the homeless in our community.

The Winsome and its volunteers do great work.

Olivia Wills turned 100 over the weekend.

I missed the party so dropped in through the week to give her some flowers. She is in great form.

The Vietnam Veterans Day march and service is on this Saturday.

The march starts from the old Lismore Post Office on the corner of Magellan and Molesworth streets at 4.50pm.

It will be followed by wreath laying in Memorial Park at 5pm.

Lest we forget.
