LOUISE Ralph and Michael Alcock own Resould in Brunswick Heads, a cool vintage store that offers a professional upholstery and furniture restoration service to a loyal following.
Their house is - as one would expect - an eclectic reflection of their business, showcasing mid-century modern.
"We started collecting nearly two decades ago when we moved back to Australia from years living overseas," said Louise.
"Michael has always restored classic cars, so I started collecting my bits and pieces, and started researching at the library.
"I just love authentic mid-century screen-printed fabric, furnishing and furniture. I used to sell at the markets about 15 years ago and then eventually we started the shop.
"The house just came about almost organically. It used to be the old Rural Fire Brigade hut. Our friends did a quick renovation on it and now we live here.
"The style of the house came about with things we have collected from around the area, such as shelving from the Silver Thread shop in Mullumbimby when it closed down. Some of the chairs were literally found on the street and we re-upholstered them.
"We rotate things from the shop to the home. If someone is looking for something specific and we have it at home, then we'll take it in to the shop. And if something is in the shop too long, I bring it home.
"Because I'm pretty crazy at collecting, Michael has made a rule: if I bring one thing in the house, two things have to go to the shop.
"I'm also a big recycler, which works perfectly with the philosophy of what we do at the shop - restoring, reupholstering and recycling.
"I think the house is a reflection of us and the home is constantly growing and changing - it's like a plant. It's great to keep moving and it's great to keep changing, and we certainly do that at home."
