Reclaiming the right to be safe

It's that time of year again when women are urged to unite and reclaim the night.

The annual Reclaim the Night march began in 1978 to protest sexual violence and abuse by men against women and children.

This year's march in Lismore begins at Caddies Cafe in Carrington St this Friday, October 30, at 5pm with a Welcome to Country and official address with the march starting at 6pm. There will be entertainment and speakers and all women and children are welcome “because everyone deserves to feel safe at night.”
