Raise the poetry cup

The Live Poets will be hosting the annual Lismore Poetry Cup at the Rous Hotel in Lismore next Wednesday, October 21.

Over the past 18 years the Cup has been won by some of the region's top performing poets - Christine Strelan, Geraldine Bigelow, Catherine Stewart and last year's winner, Robin Archbold.

Entries will be taken prior to the event on the evening, and poets will need to perform one original poem no longer than two minutes.

The $200 prize is provided by Noah's Arc and the Live Poets and Inner Sanctum sponsors the $100 People's Choice prize.

This year will also see the introduction of the Geraldine Cup in memory of Lismore poet Geraldine Bigelow.
