Rackin up the carbon miles

Local troubadour Mason Rack is back in this wide coal-burning land from his third Canadian tour. He and his band did over 60 shows and 40,000km in a van. (Rock has a big carbon footprint.)

“We had venues and festivals trying to book us straight away so we will tour Canada again in July this year,” Mason Rack said.

His is the only band in the history of the Kitchener Blues Fest in Ontario to be asked back three years in a row.

The Mason Rack Band will play the Lennox Point Hotel on Friday, January 22, from 9pm. You’ll hear some old faves, new material and some tales from his Canadian trip.

Oh, he did bring back a souvenir from that land – drummer Joel ‘Thunderfoot’ Purkess who has joined the line-up. Nathan ‘Nurse’ Lee-Archer completes the trio on bass.

The band has a new CD hot off the presses – Live In Canada. You can get it at the gig.
