Protesters and police clash at CSG site

PROTESTORS have clashed with police at a site where Dart Energy was given State Government approval to carry out test drilling this week.

Despite being hit with police fines on Wednesday night, at least 70 anti-coal seam gas protestors have remained at the site near Fullerton Cove on the NSW North Coast.

Environmental activists believe the drilling poses an unacceptable risk to Newcastle's ground and drinking water.

At the time of going to press Dart Energy workers had not been able to access the site

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
