Prodigy performs at Newrybar

Sean Mackenzie (pictured); is there anything he can't do?

Playing the piano at the age of 9, by 15 he'd started gigging with jazz and rock bands.

After graduating from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music he travelled the world soaking up the music of Latin America, Africa, Asia and the European Gypsies and mastering the thumb piano (kalimba) of Africa, and the Brazilian berimbau and pandeiro.

Touring with renowned guitarist Lulo Reinhardt has further upskilled this multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer.

He brings his weighty pile of cred to the Harvest Café in Newrybar, this Sunday, July 8, along with his own band, featuring bassist Christopher Soulos and Fabian Hevia on drums, for a bravura performance which will set you back a mere $18 ($15 prebooked), from 4pm.
