Private hospital less than super

Staff at Lismore Private Hospital are in dispute with their employer Owen Ferguson Health over unpaid superannuation.

Harry Maratheftis from the NSW Nurses Association said super had not been paid since December 2008 and the matter would go back before the workplace relations tribunal Fair Work Australia on Monday (March 1).

Owen Ferguson Health recently had to close their hospital at Canada bay in Sydney, notifying staff by text message that the hospital would be closed indefinitely, and putting all the equipment up for sale on an online auction site.

Last April the company was in the Supreme Court over unpaid rent to their landlord Australian Public Trustees. The matter was settled out of court.

They also had a dispute with surgeons over an air conditioner in surgery at Canada Bay that the surgeons claimed was not operating at a safe level for orthopaedic surgery.
