Prepare to die...

Being able to document your wishes for end of life care is just one of the important but little known opportunities that will be available at the Inaugural Northern Rivers Dying & Death Forum.

Presented by the Northern Rivers General Practice Network (NRGPN), the forum will be held at Invercauld House in Goonellabah on Saturday, March 20.

The forum will cover a wide range of topics related to the subject including looking at why we find it difficult to talk about dying and death, how to navigate the health system, what actually happens to the body as a person dies and how to make meaningful and appropriate choices following death. There will also be a personal account of the experience of a young family as they dealt with the dying and death of the husband and father, and their bereavement.

The forum runs from 8.30am to 3.30pm and costs $60/40, which includes morning tea and lunch. Registration closes March 12. Visit www.nrgpn.org.au.
