POPULAR radio commentator Ray Hadley will face court before the end of the month after the NSW Supreme Court found he defamed a woman when he described her as "vile" and "a grub" on his 2GB radio show.
A four person jury found in favour of Mrs Kim Ahmed and against Mr Hadley.
Mr Hadley made the comments about Mrs Ahmed who supported her husband Emran Ahmed after he was convicted for indecently assaulting a 17-year-old girl.
Fairfax reported Mr Hadley told listeners, "If this bloke has any connection with (the fish shop) and his grub of a wife, they should be completely and utterly sent out of business".
The business closed in late 2008, 13 months after Mr Ahmed was convicted.
Mr Hadley's defence said he was entitled to make the comments because they were honestly held beliefs and were based on fact.
On December 12, Mr Hadley will learn how much he owes in damages.
Fairfax reported the radio presenter is considering an appeal.
