Popular Northern Rivers Portrait Prize is open for entries

The Lismore Regional Gallery has announced that its most popular event - the Northern Rivers Portrait Prize, is open for entries.

Now in its fourth year, the painting and drawing prize offers $12,000 over three categories for works depicting a person from the Northern Rivers who the artist believes to be of value to their lives and/or the community. The overall winner receives $10,000 acquisitive.

The prize is aimed at giving artists the chance to bring the community together through the representation and celebration of the people who make up the character and integrity of the region. Last year the prize attracted over 6,000 visitors, and received over 300 entries from across the eastern states.
