Police make arrests after homemade bomb severs man's hand

TWO men have been charged over an explosion in country NSW which left a man with a severed hand.

A 28-year-old man was walking down a street at Wattamondara, near Cowra when a home-made bomb exploded.

His left hand was severed and he was airlifted to a Sydney hospital where her remained in a serious but stable condition on Tuesday.

Officers from the bomb squad allegedly discovered a second homemade bomb at a home in Cowra.

Two men, aged 29 and 32 were arrested and charged with make explosive for unlawful purpose.

They will front court in December.
