Police have issued another notification about a man wanted on an arrest warrant, whose ex-partner was located safe and well in Lismore early this morning.

Leon Edward King, 28, is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Island appearance, approximately 185cm to 190cm tall, of a large build, with black hair, with a black beard and moustache.

It is believed he is the Northern Rivers region.

Anyone who sees Mr King, or believes they know his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.

His 23-year-old ex partner Hannah Scofield was located in Lismore in the early hours of this morning after police initially had concerns for her welfare.

UPDATE 8.25am: 

MISSING woman Hannah Scofield is safe and well after being recovered by police last night.

He ex partner Leon King is still wanted on warrant by police. He was last seen in the East Ballina area at about 2am this morning.

Mr King is wanted by police on two outstanding warrants.

If you know of his whereabouts do not approach him; call your local police or 000 immediately.

POLICE believe a woman who has been missing since Friday may have been kidnapped by her ex-partner.

Richmond Police District crime manager Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay said the family of 23-year-old Hannah Scofield were "extremely concerned" about her disappearance.

He said police believe Ms Scofield has been with with 28-year-old Leon Edward King against her will since Friday.

Ms Scofield was not at her Dunoon home when police responded to a welfare call to her address on Friday.

This followed an alleged fight between Mr King and another 28-year-old in Rous St, Goonellabah.

The alleged victim was left with head injuries, police said.

Insp Lindsay said they were urgently seeking information about the whereabouts of Ms Scofield and Mr King.

"We have real concerns for her safety," Insp Lindsay said.

Insp Lindsay said the duo had previously been in a domestic relationship and had been seen in the Lismore and Ballina areas.

Police believe they are still in the local area.

"We believe that she may be with Mr King against her will," he said.

"We believe they are in the Northern Rivers area."

Insp Lindsay said Mr King had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

He said the man who received "significant injuries" in Goonellabah on Friday had been discharged from Lismore Base Hospital.

Police are still investigating what sparked the altercation.

"We're still to speak to Ms Scofield about a few aspects, and our enquiries are continuing," he said.

Insp Lindsay urged anyone who sees the duo not to approach them, but to phone Triple 0 immediately.

Ms Scofield has been described as 23 years old, 150 to 170cm tall with a medium build.

She has a fair complexion with long dark hair. Police believe she was last seen wearing dark clothing.

Mr King is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, 185 to 190cm tall, of a large build with black hair, a black heard and moustache.
