Police car slapped before Justine Damond was shot

A WOMAN "slapped" the back of a police car moments before Australian-born bride-to-be Justine Damond was shot to death by a Minnesota cop, according to a new search warrant.

The warrant, filed by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, which is investigating the fatal shooting, doesn't explicitly say that woman was Damond, Minnesota Public Radio reported.

It says, "upon police arrival, a female 'slaps' the back of the patrol squad … After that, it is unknown to BCA agents what exactly happened, but the female became deceased in the alley."

Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor was "startled" by a loud sound just before he shot Damond to death July 15, his partner Matthew Harrity told investigators.

The two cops were responding to Damond's 911 call about a possible sexual assault near her home.

Noor was seated in the passenger seat of the patrol car and shot across Harrity, striking Damond, 40, who was set to be married next month.

The BCA warrant didn't say whether the slap was the loud noise Noor heard prior to the shooting.

Personnel records released Monday show Noor, who was hired in March 2015, completed multiple training courses, including one about active shooting situations ahead of the Super Bowl to be held in Minneapolis next year.

He also passed all of his annual semi-automatic, handgun and shotgun qualifications.

Noor has refused to speak with investigators about the shooting. He and Harrity are on paid administrative leave.
