Plenty of school holiday fun

With the summer holidays commencing this week for all school students, Lismore Tourism has released its popular School Holiday Information Packs so you never run out of things to do.

Council’s tourism co-ordinator Mitch Lowe said the School Holiday Information Packs are filled with a comprehensive range of ideas of fun things for kids and families to do and see in Lismore, Nimbin and surrounding villages.

“There’s a list of the top 10 free activities for families in and around Lismore, a heap of workshops ranging from kids cooking, drama, art and dance classes plus a fun sports program at the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre, and even kayak or bushwalking tours for kids looking for some serious adventure,” Mitch said.

The packs also include vacation care programs plus activities from organisations such as the PCYC, Norpa, the Northern Rivers Conservatorium, the Memorial Baths, Lismore Shopping Square, Putt Putt Golf and Ten Pin Bowling.

The School Holiday Information Packs can be downloaded from the Lismore Tourism website www.visitlismore

.com.au where you can also check out the online events calendar for a full list of what’s on in Lismore, Nimbin and villages this summer.

Or pick up a copy of the School Holiday Information Pack from the Lismore Visitor Information Centre on the corner of Ballina Rd and Molesworth St, Lismore, right next to Heritage Park. The centre is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 9:30am to 4pm.

Any local businesses or groups offering summer holiday activities for kids and families are encouraged to contact the VIC to be included in the holiday packs. Phone 6626 0100.
