Phoenix keeper rises to the occasion in 0-all draw with City

A BRILLIANT performance from Wellington goalkeeper Glen Moss - coming up with 10 high-quality saves - saw his team salvage a 0-all draw against Melbourne City at AAMI Park.

Moss's performance was one of the best by a 'keeper this season, and with 10 minutes to go he picked up a nasty cork to his hip, to go with his troubles.

The match did not deserve to end in a scoreless draw, however, as it was a far from dull encounter which saw plenty of shots on target.

City had its best chance in the 80th minute, a pinpoint switch of play from David Williams expertly volleyed by Aaron Mooy releasing Jonatan Germano in front of goal.

Germano unleashed a powerful shot, but Moss was there to deny him.

Melbourne came desperately close to stealing a win in the final play of the game through an Aaron Mooy free kick, but Erik Paartalu's header in the penalty box went just over the crossbar.

City, in sixth, is unbeaten in its past five games and is now certain to play in the finals, with Perth (third) to be booted out of the top six for salary cap breaches.
