Peugeot releases 308 hatch for $21,990 drive-away

PEUGEOT has launched an aggressive drive-away campaign for its 308 hatch, offering the entry-level model for $21,990.

That was the original retail price. The six-speed automatic is now $24,690 drive-away (previously $23,990 RRP).

The 308 is powered by a turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol engine developing 96kW and 230Nm. It emits 107 grams of CO2 per kilometre and, with a manual transmission, uses 4.6 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres.

It comes with six airbags, cruise control, Bluetooth compatibility and a USB port.

Peugeot Australia general manager John Startari said the move to drive-away pricing boosts appeal and saves customers money.

"The Peugeot 308 has won accolades world-over and the move to drive-away pricing adds significant appeal to the package," he said.

"The new price structure represents one of the best offers in the marketplace and we are certain that it will result in more Peugeots finding a home in Australian driveways."
