Paying tribute to stars

The world debut of Lismore's Burlesque Ladder will be among the dance, musical, comedic, poetic and theatrical performances in Homage: a Tribute to Inspiration at the Tatts Hotel this Saturday, July 28. Various artists will tip the hat to such touchstones as The Cure, Betty Page, The Doors, Kiss, and the Eurythmics.

There will be prizes for the best dressed audience member, paying homage to whoever or whatever has been a creative muse. Pre-show tickets are $12, doors open at 7.30pm.

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
