Patty Mills' Spurs tumble out of NBA playoffs

BASKETBALL: Australian Patty Mills could have played his last game for San Antonio after the Spurs were sent packing in the NBA Western Conference finals.

Mills, at the end of his three-year, $US13 million Spurs contract, was largely off target, missing nine of his 13 field-goal attempts as he hit 14 points in the 129-115 loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Stephen Curry scored 36 points against the injury-ravaged Spurs as the Warriors became the first team in NBA history to start the playoffs 12-0.

Golden State is now through to its third straight NBA finals, where it could face Cleveland for a third straight championship decider.

The Cavaliers lead Boston 2-1 in the Eastern Conference finals.

San Antonio's only lead came on the opening possession when Manu Ginobili scored a basket.

The game could be the 39-year-old's last for the Spurs as he will ponder retirement in the off-season

Kyle Anderson scored 20 points to lead the Spurs, who were without Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker and David Lee.
