AUSTRALIA is in desperate need of some fearless leadership and a plan to ensure the future prosperity of its people ahead of the 2013 federal election, Clive Palmer says.
The mining magnate said the Gillard government and politicians in general continued to destroy the national economy, depriving Australians of a decent livelihood and causing undue hardship to families.
"Our politicians do not know what they are doing, they are not qualified in how the real world works, they are not the best people for the job,'' Mr Palmer said.
"The Australian government is the biggest business in the country, yet the people in charge do not have the runs on the board in real life. They have no business acumen and they continue to flush the economy down the toilet.
"Australia needs to have its most successful citizens who have a commitment to service and the community leading them - those who provide real solutions and who have a super plan for the country.
"All of us should pay tribute to Julia Gillard and Wayne Swan for offering themselves for service and giving up large amounts of their time, however we must acknowledge their shortcomings which include destroying this nation's wealth."
Mr Palmer said Australians needed leaders with proven track records and excellent decision making qualities, not ones propped up by slick advertising campaigns that lived in fear of polls and party endorsements.
"We want leaders who can fearlessly face issues without fear or favour,'' he said.
"And we don't need politicians whose income in political life exceeds what they could earn in a private life capacity. This breed has nothing to give up and nothing to lose - no wonder the country is in such a poor state."
