Shark attack victim Mathew and family need help

THE family of Ballina shark attack victim Mathew Lee has set up a Facebook support page to help raise funds and keep the community informed about the 32-year-old's recovery.

So far, more than 2300 people have liked the page.

The family has also released a statement.

"Mat Lee's family and close friends would like to thank the community for their kind words and support during this difficult time," the statement said. "We would ask that people respect the family's privacy, so we can focus on supporting Mat as best we can.

"Fundraising efforts are being organised, please go to the Mathew Lee - Official Support Facebook page for details on Mat's journey and how to help."
