Outdoor screening for film fest

The Byron Bay International Film Festival, which screens from March 2-11, has always had this dream of having a free outdoor cinema screening. And now it's happening.

"We are stoked to be launching our inaugural free outdoor screening event on the Byron Bay beachfront," festival director J'aimee Skippon-Volke said.

The film for this event is Minds in the Water which tracks the transformation of Byron from a whaling town to a whale-watching town. It also traces the story of Byron man Dave Rastovich as he embarks on a global conservation quest.

Minds in the Water will be screened on Thursday, March 8.
