Organic gardening on show

Gardening Australia's Jerry Coleby-Williams will share his knowledge of organic and sustainable gardening techniques in a special presentation in Lismore on Saturday, October 3.

Jerry will show participants how to reduce their carbon footprint when gardening, and how to run a 20th century household where even lawns can be sustainable.

He will share the secrets of soil preparation to ensure a rich bounty of delicious seasonal crops as well as discussing renewable energy, solar-powered equipment and organic techniques. He will also explain how to harvest rain and stormwater, and recycle sewage and greywater - all on a suburban block.

The presentation is being held at Southern Cross University's Medicinal Plant Garden and will run from 1-am-1pm.

The cost is $45 and includes morning tea and a guided garden walk. Numbers are strictly limited so early bookings are required. Visit www.opengarden.org.au or phone 6734 4260.
