Open mic comedy with Sean

Stand-up comedians Sean Choolburra and Mandy Nolan will host a new regular comedy night at the SCU’s Uni Bar in Lismore.

Uni Bar Comedy will feature open mic-ers who will trial their gags and gain some valuable stage time.

Next Wednesday, March 3, Sean Choolburra (pictured) is at the helm. Sean is Australia’s deadliest Indigenous comedian. He combines stand-up, yarns, didge playing, dancing and rapping. Sean shares his observations with charm, cheek and charisma, a style that has naturally developed into his own brand of contemporary ‘blak’ comedy.

Sean has made ‘em laugh at the Sydney Opera House and hosted the Deadly Funnies final at the Melbourne Town Hall. He recently performed at the Darwin Festival, the Adelaide Fringe Festival, The Woodford Folk Festival and the Croc Festival (a festival of plastic shoes?). Television appearances include the Footy Show and Thank God You’re Here.

The laughs start at 7pm and the gig is free.

New comics are welcome.
