Opel offers bang for your buck trio

OPEL is gunning for the bang for your buck market.

The German car maker, which officially launched its foray into the Australian market last year, has released its performance range.

Heading the range in terms of speed is the most powerful Astra ever, while the flagship Insignia sedan has a turbo V6 under its skin and powers all four wheels.

The duo go on sale this month and will be joined by the pocket-rocket Corsa in April.

Prices start from $28,990 for the Corsa OPC, $42,990 for the Astra OPC, while the Insignia starts from $59,990.
All three are lowered, have sports suspension, body kits and alloys.

Opel launched last August, and has been busily building brand awareness.

Seventeen dealers have opened their doors with six more to come on line during 2013. Regional Queensland and New South Wales are initial focus, with dealerships to open at Maroochydore, Toowoomba, Cairns, Townsville and Port Macquarie.

Opel Australia's managing director Bill Mott said the OPC range of vehicles are the ultimate expression of pure passion, power and outstanding design.

"The OPC brand has long been the performance halo for Opel and given Australia's long affinity with and love for performance vehicles, bringing these models to Australia was a natural fit," he said.

"These are great looking cars with the performance and price to match. All of our OPC models offer outstanding value with an extensive list of standard equipment making our offer a compelling proposition for our customers.

"Since confirmation of our model line-up, customer enquiry regarding OPC models at our dealerships has been strong. The dealers are very excited to get these cars into showrooms and out on the road."
