One year on, Mayor says thanks

September 13 2009 marks the first anniversary of the NSW local government elections.

That means that I have been the Mayor of Lismore for 12 months. This letter is my way of thanking the people of Lismore for the faith you placed in me on September 13, 2008, and for the wonderful support you have given me over the past year. It has not been an easy year but I have loved every day of being Mayor of this awesome community. It is the best job in the world and being your Mayor has helped me deal with the challenges I have faced. For the past five months I have felt completely well and filled with the energy I need for my role. For the next three years I will continue to work with my fellow councillors to represent the people of Lismore and to make decisions that are in the best interests of the majority. Whoever you voted for last September, thank you all so much.
