A REPORT on the relocation of city-based government departments and jobs to northern NSW is in its final stages.
Submissions to the NSW Decentralisation Taskforce have closed and the last regional meeting was held in Albury this week.
A spokesman for deputy premier Andrew Stoner said yesterday the taskforce was focussing on the Northern Rivers Jobs Plan, regional relocation grants, restart NSW projects and government agency relocations.
The taskforce was asked to investigate how areas like Northern Rivers could benefit from the state government's "decade of decentralisation" strategy.
The report is expected to be tabled in NSW Parliament in the next two weeks.
